Proud Father

Michael Heap, father of Imogen Heap shared his delight at his daughter winning a Grammy this year for her album Ellipse, after Dave Kibble brought it to the attention of the readers of the Nottingham list.

Well spotted, Dave.

The Grammy she won was for the best engineered non-classical album and, as she produced it herself, she was especially delighted – apparently the first female artist ever to win this award. Of course what to wear was the first question and she resolved it by creating a “Twitter” dress with visibly shown messages coming in from her fans live during the presentation. Her handbag even had a screen sewn into it.

She starts a brief UK tour on Sunday in Manchester, then Glasgow and as far South as Bournemouth before going back to London (which is sold out so she has booked the Albert Hall in November!) before going off to Europe and variously around the world to at least most of the croquet playing countries. Anyone really interested – her website is a mine of information.

Now this father, who is enjoying his moment of reflected glory, had better shut up.

About Adrian

Transplanted to the West Coast a decade or so ago. Loving it, but not playing as much croquet as I did in the UK.
